The preview of the film Kaamelott, a cinematographic extension of the cult series created by Alexandre Astier, took place on Tuesday evening.

Many viewers interviewed by Europe found the film less funny than the series, but praised its aesthetics and sense of storytelling.

A second opus is already expected.

REPORTAGE

It is arguably the most anticipated film of the summer. View of the year.

Kaamelott: First part

comes out Wednesday, July 21, but it has already been seen Tuesday evening, in preview, by more than 200,000 people, according to director Alexandre Astier. With 60,000 tickets sold in 24 hours from the opening of the preview tickets,

Kaamelott

had already broken a pre-sales record for a French film. Europe 1 has gathered the opinions of the first spectators.

Flo, ticket bought in advance in hand, was not within a few minutes.

He has been waiting for the continuation of the

Kaamelott

series

since 2009. "I'm a fan of the series which stopped ten years ago. I'm waiting to know the rest of the story, it's a long time," explains- he does.

"At home, he only speaks to me in replicas of

Kaamelott,"

admits his companion.

In the crowded room, he was able to reconnect with the fanciful universe of the original series: its period costumes, its absurd humor, but also some of the cult characters of the series, played by Alain Chabat, Christian Clavier, or again Audrey Fleurot.

"The valves are a little warmed up"

Two hours later, at the exit, there are as many opinions as there are spectators.

"The images are very beautiful, it's an adventure comedy", summarizes a fan.

"I am a little disappointed", nuance another.

"I expected a lot, and unfortunately the valves are a bit warmer."

"I laughed less than I expected," abounds another.

"But I was also more moved than I thought, by the fact of finding these characters and the music."

And to add: "The only criticism that I could make with the film, it is that I want to see more of it."

Reassured or disappointed, all nevertheless confess that they already have in mind the second part of this announced trilogy.
